A very enjoyable stay in Lilac Cottage. We found the cottage very comfortable and well-equipped. Loved the fire in the evenings. Although it was bitterly cold, the sun shone every day so we had some very pleasant outings.

We had quite cold weather and it was lovely to return to the warm cottage after our days out. Is is so well equipped with everything that is needed and the dishwasher was appreciated and used. Every morning we walked into the town to buy a newspaper and to sample the coffee shops and tea rooms – we have all the “coffee chains” here* so it was very nice to sample the independent tea rooms. We visited the four National Trust properties that we wanted to see … we were particularly impressed with Upton House. We hope that we will be able to return to Lilac Cottage in the future. The 5 of us managed very well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cosy cottage and garden. Ideally located for cycling, walking, trips around the countryside to other Cotswold villages and returning always to Stow as home base. It was our third stay at Lilac Cottage in the last five years, and we hope to be able to return again in the future. We also appreciated your generous offer of allowing RK Services to drop off our car rental a day in advance because of a Bank Holiday conflict. That was truly going above and beyond what would be expected. Lilac Cottage is the ideal setting. Just the right mix of historic charm, modern convenience, lovely garden, and easy access to Stow-on-the-Wold restaurants.
